Connectivity is about more than just broadband – it’s about community.
We’re proud to demonstrate this commitment through our recent actions to support a vulnerable member of our community.
We recently received a call from Village Services, a not-for-profit organisation that provides exceptional care within the community.
A resident who had been offline for ten days and had no access to the internet or telephone service. More importantly, the resident’s emergency alert system was also not functioning, leaving them in a particularly vulnerable position.
We understand the urgency of the situation, and our operations teams quickly redirected engineers from network build activity to go and install FTTP service at the resident’s property. By 3:30 pm on the same day, the service was online, and the emergency alert system was reconnected.
Our CEO, Mark Tomlinson, is exceptionally proud of our team and humbled to be in a position where we can support the most vulnerable members of our community. He says,
“It’s not just broadband – community is at the heart of everything we do. This incident shows the power of teamwork and connectivity in making a difference in people’s lives.”
This incident highlights the importance of internet and telephone connectivity in our modern world, particularly for those who are vulnerable and rely on these services for their safety and wellbeing. We recognise the importance of this and are committed to supporting our community whenever possible.
At Country Connect, we offer a social tariff and other initiatives to help make our services more accessible to those who need them most. We believe in the power of connectivity to improve lives, and we’re proud to serve our community in any way we can.
We’re committed to continuing to demonstrate our commitment to the community and encourage others to join us in our efforts.
